Wolverine is a blend of the two. This page looks at each one on its own.
What it is
Learn Peptides explanation
- BPC-157
- A short peptide based on one the body makes. It is one of the most discussed peptides for tissue repair.
- TB-500
- A lab-made piece of thymosin beta-4, a protein the body makes. It is most often paired with BPC-157.
Why people look at it
Community reports
- BPC-157
- Recovery of tendons, ligaments and muscles. Some also look at it for joint comfort, gut problems or recovery after surgery.
- TB-500
- Recovery of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. Some also look at it for inflammation or for recovery after surgery.
Patterns people report
Community reports
- BPC-157
- Many describe less pain, easier movement or faster-feeling recovery, mostly for a specific injury. Gut and mood reports are much more mixed.
- TB-500
- Many say pain and swelling eased faster than expected. Almost every success story also involved other treatments, so it is hard to credit TB-500 alone.
When people say it did little
Community reports
- BPC-157
- About 1 in 8 people with firsthand reports said it did nothing. Most often, they were using it for gut problems or long-term illness, not an injury.
- TB-500
- Quite a few say it did nothing for their injury, even after trying it longer or in different amounts.
Side effects people mention
Community reports
- BPC-157
- Flat mood, low motivation or anxiety come up sometimes. Vivid dreams, eye twitching, tingling or a faster heart rate are rare.
- TB-500
- Soreness or a welt at the injection site, and anxiety or mood changes, come up sometimes. Trouble sleeping, sweating, tingling, nausea or headache are rare.
What animal studies show
Animal research
- BPC-157
- In rats, it sped up healing of tendons, ligaments and muscle, and helped surgical joins in the gut hold and heal.
- TB-500
- In small rat studies, TB-500 helped repaired Achilles tendons heal, and its parent protein helped ligaments heal. In mice, the parent protein drew in the cells that rebuild muscle.
What studies in people show
Human research
- BPC-157
- Very little. Fewer than 30 people have been in published studies, with no large controlled trial. One small clinic report on knee pain had no comparison group.
- TB-500
- One small trial in people put a gel of its full parent protein on slow-healing leg ulcers. In its posted results, 12 of 55 people on the gel healed, and 4 of 17 on a placebo gel. The gel showed no benefit. Most studies cover the full protein, not the shorter TB-500 fragment.
Studied together?
Learn Peptides explanation
- BPC-157
- No controlled human study has tested BPC-157 and TB-500 together.
- TB-500
- The case for pairing them is indirect. It comes from studies of each one alone, practitioner talks and personal reports.
What is not established
Learn Peptides explanation
- BPC-157
- Feeling better does not prove an injury has healed. Whether it raises cancer risk is unresolved either way.
- TB-500
- Studies of the full protein do not prove the same for every product called TB-500. Long-term safety data in people do not exist.
Commonly researched dosages
Each line comes from one source. A dose of one compound says nothing about the strength of another. Each page lists every schedule with its source. Do not mix steps from different sources.

Personal accounts, not studies. One account shows what happened to one person.
- BPC-157: One person said knee pain from tendinitis was simply gone within days of starting.
- BPC-157: After surgery for a double hernia, one person said their surgeon was surprised at how much the swelling had gone down.
- TB-500: A 43-year-old said swelling from a torn quad tendon was gone within a week and a half after surgery.
- TB-500: One person said hip pain was barely noticeable within a couple of days of starting.
- BPC-157: One person used it for a long stretch for gut symptoms and still did not notice a real change.
- BPC-157: One person felt completely flat and unmotivated for about a week while using it. The feeling went away once they stopped.
- TB-500: One person said BPC-157 and TB-500 together had zero effect for them.
Important cautions
- BPC-157 helps grow new blood vessels, which is a theoretical concern with a cancer history. No human studies have tested this either way.
- Studies link the protein TB-500 comes from to tumor spread and new blood-vessel growth. With active or recent cancer, the practitioner commentary advises avoiding both. Talk to your oncologist first.
- Both are on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2026 Prohibited List, so both are banned in drug-tested sport.
- If you take blood thinners, the practitioner commentary says to stay away from BPC-157. It affects platelets, the cells that help blood clot.
- Some people report flat mood or anxiety on BPC-157 that went away after stopping. Anxiety or mood changes also come up in TB-500 reports.
- Products sold as TB-500 may not all hold the same ingredient. Some suppliers are said to provide the full-length protein instead of the short fragment.
- For pregnancy or breastfeeding, the practitioner commentary says to avoid BPC-157. There is no data.
What this comparison does not say
- This comparison does not say either one repairs an injury. Feeling better does not prove an injury has healed.
- It does not suggest using the two together. No controlled human study has tested BPC-157 and TB-500 together.
- It does not treat studies of the full thymosin beta-4 protein as studies of TB-500.
- It does not say either one is free of risk. Long-term safety data in people do not exist for TB-500, and BPC-157 has been studied in fewer than 30 people.
